Hello All |

|
Well let me start out by introducing myself. My name is Jeff Galoob and I am the youngest of three boys. My Dad, David, was President and CEO of Lewis Galoob
Toys until 1991 when Hasbro acquired Galoob. I am happy that there is the sub culture of people out there loving my favorite Galoob toy Military Micro
Machines. My collection Pales by comparison to some of yours but its pretty strong. I love this site and will check in from time to time. If anyone is
interested in selling some of your duplicates let me know I am interested in making my collection bigger. Peace guys

Hello Jeff, welcome!
Nice to hear from a Galoob, and it's only recently that I've come to fully appreciate the quality at which your dad's company made Micro Machines. Toy-making really is about details and Galoob seemed to have got many of it right in its time, good old times at that. |

Galoob's micro machines were so much better than the stuff Hasbro makes now. Good to hear from you, hope you have luck in expanding your collection

Well as i Remember my Dad left Galoob in "91 and thats when we moved on but the Company didnt sell to Hasbro until late 1998. After 1991 I thought the
Military Micro Machines got better they were bigger and more detailed. I had to buy them myself which was a weird feeling. Walking through Toys R Us and seeing
my name on the package and having to shell out 5 bucks. Odd

Galoob wrote:Since Hasbro took over! we have losted any and all contact with the company, there is NO support for us at all. Mind you that there is a bigger group of people buying the MMM, then what we have here, but there still a hard core of people still on the board when Galoob started the web site. There isn't one web site that supports anyone who has try to maintain some type of history per Galoob/Hasbro. The only reply we ever gotten back from Hasbro was that Micro's are for kids and not for collectors, even thos if one looks at ebay and checks the prices of what MMM and Star Trek go's for! its not the kids who are driving the prices up, but the working guy. Right now any pictures and history that you could give us on the 92/93 years would be great. Like the Patroit, did it ever come out on the back of a flatbed semi! and if so do you have any. Thanks Randy from WI |

Biggest Omission | #7 | ||
|
The key question I would want to ask is how were vehicles to be produced as micro-machines chosen. Some are pretty obvious, but some do leave a person
scratching his head. I still think the biggest omission was the lack of a modern self-propelled gun i.e M109/Pz Hau 2000/AS90.

Well let me say that the price of these sets have gotten a little out of control. I can understand the star trek and star wars sets being expensive due to the
whole convention circuit but come on. I have seen single trucks selling for like $20 which is stupid at least to me. I admit I may have spent $12 or $13 per
pack on eBay a few times but I am a reasonable person. It never got above that for me. As far as which vehicles were being selected and made...after talking
with my Dad, he said that production managers would work on samples and based on how they looked the team would vote and either approve or deny each set. Im
sure popularity was a big factor and their must have been a team that did some research and what not but thats all I got. In truth my faves were the ones post
Galoob and into the Hasbro Era which was late '93 '94 The planes got bigger and more detailed and the line just got better. I guess they also got a lot
more popular cause of the Gulf War.

Thats right.. it started off with Desert storm and I clearly remember that one no manufacturer that does so detail and no one is doing in that kind of scale.
Its just a pity you didn't make more variants

I have one of them, bgut only the bottom of it. its a BMP in the same color as the T-80, but no turret for it. had to take a T-80 turret and change the barrel
to look more like the the standard ones, but i use it as a command vehicle
