Life must go on! Back to a trade where I,m looking to trade for 11 more BMPs. Was going to call it quits after I get 2 more to fill out the last full company,
but now I'll need 4 more on top of the 2.

Like Randy...I have come to the conclusion that you can never have enough MMM.....call it an obsession......a madness. Plus as long at the likes of SCE, Randy
and I are here..the Buzz Board will survive. I realise the younger members will have changes in their priorities, but it is interesting to see past members
coming back...Sam is a great example.
I have just got back from four days in Normandy. Spent all of the time around Caen looking at the Anglo-Canadian operations. An amazing experience to walk the ground where so much heavy fight took place. |

Indeed those miniature tanks hold great appeal, in both collection and war-gaming. I've noticed the lull in board activity too, and recall better times
when someone always wanted you had, and have something you want.
In any case, I'm in the process of re-organising my collection and hopefully will have more items of interest to you guys. |

I have found over the years that activity of the Buzz Board tends to work in peaks and troughs....We are simply in a bit of a quiet period.

yes indeed micros are an obsessions, seen this board light up and dull out over the years. I have changed over to micro minijets and 1/1200-1/1250 scale ships
as I have sold off or traded off all my regular armor, planes, navy items. As I collect micro Jets mini jets down the road and I am moving mid summer..
by winning these auctions I get stuck with extra regular planes, and armor/navy,, they will shipped off to SCE as I owe him, and extras to R.S, PZR, etc.. I come on this board daily just never post since I got nothing to trade!! Kuznet.. |

Yes, I miss some of the old members we had. We had James Dixon out in the islands, Bryan Allen up in the twin cities, Jay Patterson! here's one I think we
will hear from again. He left when his tower wented down and then because of the kids switched over to Warhammer, but never solded anything.. Then there's
pvj (Paul) up in Ont and remember Chinook who moved down to OR from WA.
How about Will Harless, he's in the Navy and out to sea every 6 months. RKA, well he's alive, you don't see him bidding anymore, but both Roger and myself talk with him, Then there's Chris Klint, going to school and not much time for this. Where has Dusty Neal gone to or Keith Gill & Kevin Gil. I hope when summer comes and the schools are shut down that some of these people would say hello again with just a word or 2 |

Still present, y'all: things are remarkably quiet these days, but on the MMM front it's mainly a product of having hit almost all my ORBAT targets. A
few years ago I might have still picked up a few cheap eBay lots and decided to make new formations with whatever I didn't trade, but these days there just
don't seem to be as many bargains to be had: fewer listings and higher demand usually keep the prices too high for me to click the button. Beyond that,
I'm pretty much where I was a year ago: any trades are pending resolution of my annual megadeal with Rick Noyes, I'm still contemplating selling off
some surplus pieces either here or on eBay, and once or twice a week I take a pass through here and recent listings to see what's up. In the interim
I've spent more time with other interests like Gundam modeling, but I'm still too lazy to paint the things so MMMs still have my undying gratitude on
that count.

Hi Chris:
I had a large trade with Rick, but USPS losted his package somewhere in VA. So hes trying to cover it again. I don't have the cash to spend on big lots, so I look at the little one, but even those are getting out of hand. Luck for me that I'm also into 144 scale as well, because it gives a little to more room to build. Whats really nice right now is all the new stuff coming out in 144 WW2, like the M3/5 and the M26 |

After a long hiatus I have returned, never really got out of collecting but just had some not-so-great times financially and kind of had to prioritize. All
good now though.
Really don't see too many MMMs where I'm at. Every once in a while I'll see something at a thrift store or flea market and snatch it up, but that's about it. Ebay is just too rich for my tastes and I don't like geting stuck in bidding wars. So mainly I focus on Dragon and Takara now, nothing like buying out a hobby shop's entire stock of Bradleys, hahaha. |

Yes, I spended my time redoning a number of APCs. Like the Lerlercs, they got all IFVs, then the Merkavas got all M113s. The UKs use both Warriors and M2s. The
poles are short of BMPs but were working on that. Then the US has the M2. Last the Gr have the Fuch and M2s.
That's still going to leave a very large force of M2s, LAVs, IFV |

Randy,
If I had to pin the collapse of eBay's utility down to a single factor, beyond the spikes and falls in prices I've seen, I'd have to say the culture of the place has deteriorated. Most of my collection dates back to when your average seller was either an avid regular with whom you might negotiate a volume discount, or a housewife cleaning out a closet who might be persuaded of the mutual benefit in adding any other Micro Machines she's found to a win for another $30 or so. Nowadays, though, people just seem to list two broken playsets for $150, cut-and-paste three pages of house rules about how they'll report you as a Nigerian scammer for asking a question, then duly relist their "big huge MMM piiilez!!!" without fail for the rest of eternity. Pretty much all I buy lately are Star Wars action figures on behalf of a friend of mine here in town; at least he doesn't pay too much for 'em, mainly because most of his purchases have been in recent production so he's usually shelling out a 20% markup at worst. Karim, Good to see you again, man; didn't realize you were moving again. It sounds like your collection's doing pretty well lately, although mine's been pretty stagnant because of the eBay insanity. Models are looking increasingly tempting as of late, although you can't really dump 'em wholesale into a bin for storage the way you can with MMMs...that said, if the market keeps up like this I might change my mind on that. |

I really don't see a collapes of the MMM s at all. I think were at that point in life as to where the market price is. True that the price have gone threw the roof, but then again it just makes the items you have, worth that much more! and condition won't mean a thing. We in the group at the board have try different ideas, like myself. Making Avengers, M60s w/plow, remove the plows from 98s & 99s to make new color tanks, etc etc. Now you can see the same thing being done on Star Trek ships. For now allot of us just don't have that spare cash to spend, but that will come to a end and then! who knows what will happen |
